ABOUT
Meet Richard Stapleton
Richard Stapleton has dedicated his career to public service, community safety, and compassionate response in times of crisis. With 19 years in law enforcement, he specialized in drug enforcement and mental health response and served as a Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) officer, working directly with individuals and families facing behavioral health emergencies.
He is also a trained crisis interventionist, medicolegal death investigator, and phlebotomist, bringing both technical expertise and human-centered care to his work. Richard went on to supervise the Douglas County Coroner’s Office for nearly four years, supporting families through loss and guiding investigations with professionalism, dignity, and transparency.
His combined field, investigative, and family-support experience defines his commitment to compassionate, professional, and transparent leadership for the community.
